Hello

I have always been one of those creative and crafty-type of gals.   One day not so long ago, I woke up and thought to myself,  I think it would be fun to start painting wine glasses!!!  (Crazy random 2AM thought).   Maybe I can sell them and start a home based business.   Maybe I could quit my 9-5 grind and pursue something on my own terms.  Because if you dream, dream big, Right?   

 

The next day, I stopped by a the local craft store and bought some supplies.  ($100 later)  I started painting away, thinking this was easy!   (mind you I was only painting the stems).   Boy, was I wrong...   The glasses looked nice, but if I'm being honest, I wouldn't even buy them.  They were pretty plain.   I had lots of big ideas running thru my head:  I could paint a dolphin, paint a palm tree, maybe a nice beach scene!   Then I started to actually paint the glass itself.   Trying designs.  Trying stencils.  Watching videos on You Tube.  Trying everything I could think of to make that glass look good.   Painting takes talent (lots of it!)  I found that it is something I enjoy, but don't really have the skill or patience it takes to paint like a pro.

 I did some other DIY crafty projects at home, many involving spray paint, which was also somewhat disastrous.  (fortunately my husband is very understanding of my creative genius mode).   I remember going to "Painting with a Twist" sessions with some friends in the past which I enjoyed.   I thought wine glass painting would be a fun activity to do in a similar fashion with friends at home.  We could laugh and joke at each other's bad painting techniques!
